Right in the heart of Stamford, Wharf Road, sits the stunning Grade II listed building we call Riverside.
Partners Darren Grigas & Murphy Hill have been hard at work refurbishing this historic building into modern and charming riverside apartments. Willow, The Lily Pad, The Toll House & last but definitely not least The Kingfisher Suite make up the four luxury apartments.
These apartments are perfect for holiday lets and shorts stays be it work or pleasure.
On entrance to the Kingfisher Suite the quaint chartwell green door leads you from the historic paths of Stamford up to the contemporary entrance of your apartment. Both doors are very secure and use a modern and intelligent locking system meaning no keys are involved.
The Kingfisher Suite consists of two double bedrooms, bathroom, open plan kitchen, living room & dining area & that's before I even get started on the views and historic features.
The views of the river are perfectly picturesque and can be seen from the master bedroom and living room. Looking out onto the meadows instantly makes you realise why Stamford has been voted one of the best places to live.
Check-in is from 3pm and as there isn't a reception as such, each apartment contains a tablet that let's you check in yourself. It also shows you information of the local area, places to eat & things to see. Check-out the following day isn't until 11am, so you can even treat yourself to a well earned lie in. Both bedrooms contain high ceilings and exposed beams, this combined with the rustic & shabby-chic furniture, luxury bedding and don't forget a copy of Rutland Pride magazine, does nothing but make you feel at home. Despite being in the centre of Stamford town The Kingfisher Suite is nothing but tranquil.
Jenna Overton the operations manager is in charge of managing the day-to-day running of the apartments & also runs the cleaning company that ensure they are perfect for every single guest. It's clear Jenna knows what she is doing as the standards of Riverside are impeccable & all enquiries and bookings are handled with ease.
They say life is all about the 'little things' and during my stay in the Kingfisher Suite I noticed a lot of thought had gone into making sure these 'little things' were 100% covered. The apartment was immaculate and I was even provided with fresh milk for that well needed cup of tea after my travels. The kitchen contains all the amenities you could possibly think of which makes this apartment perfect for long stays.
As soon as you walk into the Kingfisher Suite you instantly want to walk straight down the corridor towards the open plan kitchen, living room & dining room, open a bottle of red wine and cast your eyes over the views of the river. This rooms has high ceilings, exposed beams and feels very spacious, perfect for family's or a romantic weekend away. I couldn't fault my stay at Riverside it was perfect and it's safe to say that Riverside definitely have no problem in going that extra mile to make your trip a memorable one.
